Hello! My name is Jorge García (Martín as second family name).
Welcome to my website!
I’m an engineer and audio technology specialist currently based in Madrid, Spain. My career started in radio broadcasting and web development in the late 90s and since then I’ve been working professionally across disparate industries and roles. This has included electronic music production for labels around the world as well as development of professional audio software for brands such as MIDAS consoles and RØDE Microphones. I've also been working in the
videogames
industry since 2008, mostly as an audio folk for companies like NaturalMotion/Zynga, MercurySteam, FreeStyle/Activision, Codemasters and Electronic Arts.
My academic background is in Telecommunications Engineering (I hold a Bachelors degree from
Universidad Politecnica in Madrid, Spain) and Sound and Music Computing (Masters degree from
Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain in collaboration with the
Music Technology Group). Additionally, I took a postgraduate course on Artificial Intelligence with Deep learning from
Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in Spain.
From 2012 until 2016 I lived and worked in the UK and in September 2016 I became an associate member of the
Audio Engineering Society. I've been working remotely with distributed teams since 2018 and I currently work as a Software Engineer on Audio Tools and Technology at
Electronic Arts.
From time to time I like speaking at conferences and writing technical articles - if you have an interesting proposal,
please let me know! I always love to learn more about UX/HCI, electronic music, R&D, innovation, entrepreneurship, leadership and many other random topics.
In my spare time I enjoy hiking, swimming, reading, playing video games, watching films/series/documentaries, cooking, travelling or just relaxing.
I'm an international speaker with experience in both academia and industry events. I feel that public speaking is always a great opportunity to share knowledge and learn from others!

My career in electronic music production started in the mid 90s with the (by then) popular
music trackers Impulse Tracker and ModPlug. It wasn't until 2004 that I started to release my own productions commercially as part of
Clubbervision aka TechAmplifier, a band/production duo Daniel Ferreira and I created in Madrid, Spain. During a five year period we released several tracks and remixes under various labels around the world
(in the UK, US, Canada, Japan and Spain, just to name a few) as 12" vinyls, CDs and digital releases. We even toured locally and internationally as far as China. Alongside the Clubbervision project, we created the
Noctambula Records label.
As a side gig, I also joined forces with the Japanese producer Hiro Tanaka and released some music under the
project
Japain. When Clubbervision dissolved I started a career as a solo producer under the moniker Yorch and these days I continue making music as a hobby.
We were fortunate that our music was supported and played around the world by international DJs like Laurent Garnier, Hernan Cattaneo, Markus Schulz and many others. In addition to releasing my own productions, from time to time I also make unofficial remixes of some of my favourite artists The Chemical Brothers and Moby.

While I was still at High School in 1997, some classmates offered me the opportunity to join a local radio station in Madrid called Antena del Cauro and we started a radio show: 33RPM. After some time I got hired by other local radio stations of the city as DJ/speaker. Once I got more experience I worked for national broadcasters in Spain, speaking and DJing for hundreds of thousands of listeners through the stations Dance FM (now defunct, it was part of
Onda Cero),
Flaix FM (when it was part of Grupo Zeta) and
Loca FM.
Additionally, I worked on the production and sound design of numerous jingles for a variety of radio shows, mainly focused on electronic dance music. The Noctambula records label (see previous Music section) also had its own weekly radio show in Loca FM. I still have fond memories of this period!
Feel free to get in touch if you have a software or music project you think I can help you with, any career/industry questions or anything nice to share. Please bear in mind that my time for collaborations and mentoring is limited!
